Today I begin a 2-month writing marathon leading into my appearance at ConCarolinas, so things may be a little quiet on a day-to-day basis. Getting TMC into the Endgame chapters before the end of May is my #1 goal.
That said, there are some fun and surprises ahead, I hope. I’ve been sitting on a few longer snippets to share with all my patrons and general social media crowd. I’ll also host two Zooms — one for my Arcana & Principalities, and one for my Arcana. (I’ll continue brainstorming some of the “recurring segment” ideas — I had a lot of fun, in particular, reading through recent TLS reviews with my Arcanum on Goodreads. And I’m very interested in a “Read Along” for both Principality and Arcana tier.)
I’m also about to bring an ongoing writing project online through Patreon. It’s a line of novelettes and novellas under the tagline “The Early Adventures of Rune and Brand,” and if all goes well, my Arcana tiers are about to see the first chapter of a fresh story — set in the very early days of Half House — sooner than I expected….. I’ll be using the Arcana tier in particular for full-chapter/chapters serial installments every month. Eventually, finished stories will migrate outwards to other tiers, and hopefully even print someday.
My writing pace may be slow, but not a day — not a single, single, single day — goes by without me working on the main series outline in some fashion. I am falling in love with the second trilogy — so many plot threads are coming together in expected & unexpected ways. The importance of Addam and Quinn’s father…. Layne’s clever, clever observation which will change the world… the true nature of the Anchorite….. my “Laura” archetype…. and ahhhh dragons and storms and were-creatures.
Someday, I hope to be a full-time writer. I cannot begin to imagine what a luxury it would be to write for hours each day with all my full daytime energy. Fingers crossed.
Be well, my friends. Let’s see if I can surprise you with a few things this week!
